Christina Marra, CPSC, LPC

Christina has been working in the mental health field since 2015. She gained her Masters in Psychology with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2013. She has worked with individuals, couples and families helping them to regain control of their lives and find joy in their everyday experiences.

Christina started her work as an Applied Behavioral Analyst (ABA) working with adults and children with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. She then moved to Intensive In Home Family Therapy working with at risk teens, where she found her passion in helping adolescents. After a move to Georgia in 2018, she started working in private practice helping individuals, couples and families where she really felt her calling. In 2022 a dream to help the community came to life, an opportunity to make a bigger difference and reach more people came about and that is why she started Caring Minds Mental Health Professionals.

Kendal Harrod, Clinical Director, LMFT

Kendal is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She graduated with her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy through Valdosta State University. She has been in the field for 5 years and enjoys helping people connect with themselves, their emotions, and their families. 

Kendal's goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for self-exploration and the development of tools to navigate life's challenges. Her therapeutic approach is highlighted through a person-centered, solution-focused approach by helping identify individual strengths and increase self-esteem/confidence.

In her role as a therapist, she aims to help clients foster meaningful relationships with self and others, develop interpersonal skills, work through trauma, develop healthy and positive thought patterns, navigate the complexities of grief and pain, and provide guidance through life transitions.

Jennifer Carmack, LPC

Jennifer is a licensed mental health counselor currently offering telehealth and in person therapy for individuals who reside in Georgia. She is aware that there is a full spectrum of hardships that someone may experience in their life; and, for that reason provides personalized treatment for individuals who need support during times of adversity.

Even in childhood, Jennifer had an interest in offering a listening ear to others. With age this developed into her helping others solve problems, advocating for the needs of others, locating resources and services for individuals, and encouraging others to find their own success story. These experiences are what lead her to pursue an education and career in psychology and counseling. After Jennifer graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, she worked in a dementia/Alzheimer’s unit at an assisted living facility where she administered diverse therapeutic activities to residents and their families.

Jennifer then obtained her Master’s degree in 2018. During her Master’s internship she worked in an inpatient crisis stabilization hospital where she provided evidence-based psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She then proceeded to finishing her internship in the private practice setting where she has taken a particular interest in working with adults who have experienced acute, chronic, and/or complex trauma. In 2020, she obtained her 200-hour yoga teacher certification in hopes to find alternative solutions to reducing the risks of trauma and other mental health issues through healthy lifestyle modifications and proven therapeutic interventions.

Jennifer currently has over 6 years of experience in the mental and behavioral health field working with an array of mental health issues and strives to promote the many fundamental foundations to human wellbeing.

Desiri-llana Simpkins, Mental Health Counselor/Behavioral Therapist

Desiri is a supervised therapist, being supervised by Courtney Scott, LPC, CPCS, and has been working in the mental health field since 2018. She obtained her Masters in Counseling from Ottawa University in 2021.

Desiri works strategically using Solution focused and Cognitive Behavioral approaches. Being aware that everyone is not the same, she takes a custom fit approach to meet the client’s needs where they are to help each and every individual. Desiri has experience working with adults, children, teens and adolescents who were experiencing depression, anxiety, self image issues, abuse, trauma (PTSD), ADD, ADHD, ODD, anger management, couples/marriage and family counseling, as well as minors in the foster care system and who’ve been adopted.

Desiri works strategically using Solution focused and CBT. Desiri would love to meet you and get to know you, the whole person and assist you in working through your struggles. Desiri’s goal in this is to help each individual unlock their full potential and restore a higher quality and peaceful life. Desiri’s passion is to help each individual she encounters by encouraging and supporting them through their journey.

Jocelaine Smith, Mental Health Counselor

Jocelaine supervised therapist, being supervised by Nikhol Jackson, MS, LPC, CPCS, DCC, has over 7 years of experience working with children and adults. She provides therapy to her clients using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and Choice Therapy.  She is experienced in working with diverse cultures, and is trained in Perinatal Mental Health Counseling. 

Jocelaine completed her Master's in the mental health field 2016 and has continued to be driven to learn and work with individuals to overcome challenges and make a positive impact on her client's lives. 

She strives to foster collaborative relationships with her clients in order to have the best outcomes and drive treatment. 

La Tonya Klish-Polk, Mental Health Counselor

La Tonya's objective is to support and enable clients to discover their internal strengths, guiding them through life's challenges to liberate themselves from feelings of shame, guilt, denial, withdrawal, low self-esteem/confidence, hurt/pain, disappointments, trauma, and the complexities of grief and loss. She aims to help clients establish healthy boundaries, foster meaningful relationships, navigate life's direction, and recognize their self-worth and value. In her role as a therapist and coach, she prefers to engage with individuals at their current stage, offering a direct, non-judgmental, safe, comfortable, and supportive environment.

By employing diverse treatment methods, individuals will have a change in perspective, converting detrimental and pessimistic thoughts and behaviors. This involves purposefully reshaping thoughts through a mindset approach, making optimal choices, and decisions (through analysis and steps), followed by suitable actions toward forward progression. Bailey Everett, Marriage and Family Therapy

Bailey Everett is a supervised therapist who brings a diverse experience working with individuals, couples, and families navigating various stressors. Throughout her time as a therapist, she has worked in Atrium’s NICU/PICU centers, offering compassionate care to mothers and families undergoing significant hardship and stress. Additionally, Bailey has supported a range of clients in community mental health centers, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, marital and family conflict, self-concept development, and low self-esteem.

Utilizing Emotion Focused Therapy and Attachment Based work, she helps clients recognize, validate, and grow through their emotional experiences. The ultimate goal is to guide clients toward discovering their most authentic selves and finding a path to self-compassion, joy, and fulfillment. Bailey provides a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to navigate life's chaos and uncertainty, and is passionate about supporting those who make the brave choice to embark on the therapeutic journey.

Ebony is a supervised therapist who has a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. For over a decade, she has passionately supported clients through individual and couples work to overcome anxiety, depression, trauma healing, grief and loss, and navigate life transitions

Brittany Wise, Intern

Brittany Wise is a supervised intern and is currently earning her Masters of Family Therapy from Mercer University School of Medicine. After she graduates in July 2025, Brittany plans to acquire more experience and the hours required to obtain her license as a Marriage and Family Therapist. 

Following a strengths-based approach to therapy, Brittany collaborates with her clients to build off their strengths. In the therapy room, Brittany relies on attachment theory and other systemic theories to understand her client’s situation. Brittany believes that everyone deserves to find healing and enjoys supporting her clients along their journey of reaching their goals. Brittany has worked with individuals overcoming life adjustments, depression, anxiety, and she particularly enjoys working with mother-daughter, husband-wife, and other relationships together in therapy.

Brittany is currently accepting teens and adults for individual therapy. For any relational problems, within the family or marriage, Brittany is also accepting couples and families.
